Summary[]

Opening Scene[]

The episode starts with Loonette shushing and telling the viewers to be quiet while Molly is sleeping and don't want to wake her up. She sits herself up and asks them if they ever have one of those night where they just couldn't get to sleep no matter how hard they tried and maybe it was because their brain was too busy or they'd had a bad dream and couldn't get back to sleep or... things look different in the dark they kept them awake but gets distracted by a squeaky sound and takes it out of the couch and says that the toys were just too noisy and throws it on the floor and says to them that was the kind of night that she and Molly has last night and they just couldn't get to sleep and they were tossing and turning and rocking and rolling while she spins around and giggles, but realizes her mistake and shushes "Not so loud!" and tells that Molly really has to get some sleep and she starts narrating the flashback with herself tucking Molly in and says "Goodnight!" to Molly. Molly says if they can have a doughnut and Loonette says they can't have a doughnut now and they just brushed their teeth and goes back to sleep and Molly goes back to sleep as well. Loonette narrates, "But no matter how hard I try, I just couldn't get to sleep." She and Molly toss and turn in their sleep. Loonette sits herself up and shouts, "It's the middle of the night and I can't get to sleep!" and hears a squeaky noise under the couch and thinks she heard something and asks Molly if she heard a noise and she nods her head. Loonette takes a carrot out of the couch and says "Just what I was looking for!" and says to Molly that carrots can see in the dark and looks around, saying "How do you turn this thing on?!" and Molly says she could use a flashlight and Loonette says she think she could use a flashlight instead and says "Good thinking, Molly! Silly me!" and throws the carrot on the floor and hears that squeaky noise and finds a flashlight and asks "Where's it coming from? Under the couch? What could possibly be under the couch?" and Molly says that the noise coming from the Dust Bunnies and then Loonette says she's right and says "Dust-bunnies!" in a low voice, sighs, and says "This I gotta see!" and takes a look under the couch.

Dust-bunnies[]

As the light shines underneath the couch, it awakens the dust-bunnies who do various acts in the light. Loonette then gets frightened and wonders, "What was that?" After performing the acts, the dust-bunnies take a bow then go back to sleep.

Shadow Puppet Play[]

Loonette gets startled from shining the flashlight on herself, but then gets an idea to make shadow puppets.

Exploring In The Dark[]

Loonette and Molly are still not feeling sleepy, so they decide to go on a midnight safari looking around the room in the dark, even though it's a little scary. Loonette reminds everyone in song to Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark.

Dance Academy[]

When the two arrive at the Dance Academy, Loonette gets an idea to put on a light show and then announces it as her flashlight dances in the dark.

Back to the Couch[]

Loonette and Molly attempt to go to sleep, but they are still wide awake. They read a story to help them fall asleep.

Story Time[]

The story that Loonette reads is about a dream train that leads sleepy people to their dreams and the conductor calls, "All Aboard for Bed!" The story finally puts them to sleep.

Flashback Ends[]

After Loonette flashbacks, we return to the present scene and says that even though that she and Molly had a long night last night, she's starting her day and decides to go stretch on the clock rug.

Molly's still sleeping![]

After the clock rug stretch, Loonette feels energetic, but realizes that Molly is still sleeping and corrects herself by keeping quiet. At this point, she decides to go outside to Granny's house.

At Granny's House[]

Loonette does cartwheels and feels more energetic once she's outside. That is, until she finds Major Bedhead sleeping on the seesaw with a parcel and postcard from Auntie Macassar in his hands. Loonette attempts to grab the parcel and postcard, but misses it each time Major Bedhead goes down on the seesaw. Just then, Granny Garbanzo appears for the first time as she dusts around her house. Loonette asks her to help Major Bedhead wake up. At first, she dusts Major Bedhead's nose, but it doesn't work. Then, they sing a wake up lullaby and that works. Once awake, Major Bedhead delivers the parcel and postcard to Loonette. Inside the parcel, Loonette gets a train whistle and the three pretend to be a train.

Back at the Couch[]

Loonette wakes Molly up with the train whistle she got from Auntie Macassar and asks her if she had a good sleep. Then, Molly wants to play the Alphabet Game and Loonette accepts her request.

Alphabet Game[]

Can you guess the letter of the day? Here's Loonette's clues:

  • Dare ya!

She then lies on the ground with her legs up and bends to touch her toes. If you guessed the letter, "D", then you're correct!

Ten Second Tidy[]

"Delightful if I do say so myself." comments Loonette after finishing The Alphabet Game. But, she sees the big mess she made and does the ten second tidy.

Closing Scene[]

Loonette says what a day and night it was, summarizing her events. Then, she begins to think of words that begin with the letter D. When she says, "doze", she begins to go to sleep and wishes the viewers a "good day."
